3. App: Head to head async matches
Why this solution?
Players schedules are problematic so they could not jump on at a specific time everyday. Thus, I need to make this more convenient and work around the player's schedule. I also needed a simple to learn movement so it's easier to learn, perform, and judge.
The application was redesigned so one player performs 60 seconds of pushups to record their a max rep count. They then choose a player to challenge them, where this player has 24 hours to respond to do the same. Whomever does the most pushups, wins.

Learnings
Terminology to help discuss this: initiator (start the challenge), challenger (responds to the initiator).
It requires to have one of the two players highly motivated to initiate the challenge, or else the match would not occur.
Challengers who would no show would ruin the entire experience for other person. In most cases, challenger was unaware of this disappointment. It's like setting up a basketball game, you show up to the court, and your friend forgets to show up.
There are many different interpretations of a pushup which would lead to poor experiences between two players.
During a challenge, as people became more fatigued, the pushup form would degrade. This would put in question who actually won.
If one of the two players has poor pushup form, then it deters the person with good pushup form to initiate another challenge with that person.
If you lose in pushups, you are de-motivated to ever play again against that person since the race type game is very simple: who can do the most pushups.
The amount of gains you get through pushups day to day is minimal, but over the course of 12 weeks the gains are exponential.
We had a few players begin with the ability to perform 20 pushups in 60 seconds, and after 12 weeks, they were able to perform 45+ pushups in 60 seconds.
A player who works out in their daily life: their workouts would be intensified because they were motivated to do well in the next pushup match.
