1. Twitch: group battles
Why this solution?
Inspired by Crossfit's competitive format and turned it into an online experience with a timed live event, spectators, music and commentary.
User pains and gains addressed:
working out is boring
I'm not motivated to do this myself
I don't know fitness routine I should do
I need a workout for the day

Learnings
Some people paid us $5 to participate in the event
Creating new workout routines that fit the needs of a person is very time consuming
Judging form (especially in complex movements) is essential to create a game that would be respected
Organizing and coordinating a live event is time consuming, and requires many resources
Participants loved to be watched, feel like their on a game show to compete.
Competition drove people to push themself to the max
We had some spectators watch from home, but some worked out to follow along to see how they would do in comparison.
The spectators enjoyed the banter, relationships, and gamesmanship displayed between the players in the live event. It felt like they were a part of the experience (similar to how spectators watch Twitch gamers play video games, while talking).
This cannot scale without a lot of human resources to create and run
The workout we provided is most likely not the type of workout they would engage in. Crossfit like workouts are for a specific type of person such as limbs are capable, they workout in this manner already, and don't have a workout routine already.
Players would get competitive goosebumps on the day of the event. They would be nervous and excited to compete.
